Melbourne Cup Carnival

Bring on Cup week! It's now a little under a week before The Race That Stops a Nation is run and won, and I cannot wait. We have our Japanese import, Hush Writer (Rulership/Star Of Sapphire) contesting the 'win and you're in' Hotham Handicap at Flemington on Saturday in his final  attempt to make his place in history & confirm a start in the 24 horse field on the first Tuesday in November.  With Japanese imports paving the way over the recent weeks, Mer De Glace (Rulership/Glacier Blue) winning the Caulfield Cup and Lys Gracieux (Heart's Cry/Liliside) winning the Cox Plate, who is to say Hush Writer won't be next?

Hush Writer winning the time-honoured $500,000 St Leger Stakes (2600m) at Randwick last start

I had a ball on Monday at the VRC launch of Cup Week at Flemington & I'm looking forward to seeing you all there.
