Faretti Scores Maiden Win First Up

There were no two happier people than Adrian and I at Randwick yesterday following Faretti’s facile victory in the 3 Year Old Colts & Geldings Maiden Handicap over 1100 metres. This son of I Am Invincible (ex Tai Tai Tess) is a colt we have always held in the highest regard and he did not disappoint us yesterday. He jumped out well and after disputing the early speed, he settled very nicely in behind the eventual leader. He relaxed nicely and travelled beautifully for jockey Tim Clark. When Tim said ‘go’ approaching the 300 metres, Faretti’s response was immediate and he stormed his way to the front to register a most dominant 2.5 length victory. We could not be more thrilled for his owners Jon Kelly, the Mitchell family, Paul Frampton and Jim Wiltz who have all been very patient. We certainly have a very handy colt going forward. Faretti's next target is the 3 Year Old Listed Brian Crowley Stakes over 1200 metres at Randwick on 26th October and we are very excited to see him add Black Type to his name.
