Star Yearling of the Week

The time honoured Group 1 Investec Derby was run and won on the weekend with Godolphin's home bred MASAR (New Approach/Khawlah) taking out the honours and giving Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum his first Derby in his royal blue silks.

The 3 year old colt was up against a star studded field, including Aidan O'Brien's 4-5 favourite, Saxon Warrior but all credit to the winner, the final 100 yards had you on the edge of your seat. It was a hugely thrilling win and a dream come true for Godolphin and the team.

New Approach has also been responsible for undefeated 2 Year Old European Champion and Classic winning miler, Dawn Approach who resides at Darley Stud, Kelvinside NSW, and in turn, is the sire of our yearling colt out of the multiple Stakes winner and producer, Raja Lane whom we purchased from the Inglis Melbourne Premier for $150,000.

This colt has great bone, good length and substance and a look to kill. He's a masculine, solid individual and there was just something really special about him. He is also bred on the same cross as dual Group 1 winner & Cox Plate runner up, HUMIDOR.

This colt was great value and has broken in really well at Evergreen Stud Farm ahead of his first arrival at Tulloch Lodge in the next two weeks. The first official 2 year old trials are looming closer and closer and now is the time to get your hands on these youngsters showing nice promise early on.

Super VOBIS nominated & BOBS Eligible.
