Flavour of the Week

DEEP FIELD was an out and out speed machine. He won his first 5 starts by a combined margin of 24 lengths, breaking the 1100 metre track record at Canterbury along the way. He is an imposing individual who has passed the same physical qualities on to his stock – this has seen commanding top prices in the sales ring among first season sires. This beautifully athletic colt out of the precocious COMBAT KITTY is no exception – and he screams an early 2 year old.

Being by GENERAL NEDIYM out of an O’Reilly mare the dam Combat Kitty was always going to be an early, precocious type. She won on debut over 1000 metres before finishing second in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic and went on to capture the Listed Lexus Plate – amassing over $400,000 in prizemoney. She’s carried this class through to her broodmare career with her first foal to race a winner. Her Stakes winning half-sister Mitraad is also by NORTHERN METEOR, making this colt a very close relation – another promising sign.

This colt is an out and out 2 year old type both physically and on pedigree - this is your Breeders’ Plate / Magic Millions hopeful.

If you’re looking for a stable in peak form at the moment, you need look no further than Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.
