Big Weekend of Runners!
We are in the midst of the holiday season, however there is no slowing down as the team gears up for a big weekend ahead, hopeful to pick up some Black Type along the way.
Firstly, I would like to point out the tremendous efforts by both fillies yesterday at Warwick Farm, Debonairly (Snitzel/Crystal Choir) and My True Love (Fastnet Rock/Lectrice). Both girls were very tenacious and look to have big campaigns ahead of them.
Debonairly received quite an impressive write up in today's ANZ Bloodstock News, and understandably. She was a real standout at Warwick Farm yesterday and has Magic Millions 2YO Classic written all over her. She was purchased in partnership with Bloodstock Agent Marette Farrell at Magic Millions for owner two American business men, Peter Fluor and Kane Weiner. She races under the banner Speedway Stables and is Peter and Kane's first purchase and runner Down Under. I'm sure it wont be their last!
Fabrizio (High Chaparral/Desina) is one of the most exciting racehorses I have seen. He has a short let up after his impressive win at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day and he certainly looks the one to beat in Saturday's Group 2 Villiers Stakes with Tim Clark on board. Adrian and I are very confident he will continue on his winning way tomorrow.
Serena Bay (Sebring/Caiguna) is two from two this preparation and her stablemate, Emirates Park purchase Shiekha (Sebring/Solar Charged) ran an impressive 2nd on debut. The girls will be taking on the Inglis Nursery on Saturday and will give the field something to chase.
Serena Bay makes the front page
The beautifully bred Miss Debutante (Fastnet Rock/More Than Real) is in the form of her life and is set to run a big race on Saturday in the Inglis Sprint over 1100m with Tommy Berry onboard.
Heading north to Brisbane, Adrian and I have two starters. The 2YO daughter of Exceed And Excel, We Have Lift Off (ex Houston Benefactor) debuts in the Listed Calaway Gal Stakes and she will be a favoured contestant.
The very in-form Sweet Redemption (Snitzel/Redeeming Lass) kicks is set for the Listed Brisbane Cup. She will certainly race the distance and looks the one to beat tomorrow.
The races on at Doomben and Eagle Farm leading into Magic Millions offer high prize money, therefore racing centres seem to be sending their horses north.
I have been in Queensland over the past few days visiting stud farms ahead of Magic Millions. All the yearlings have presented remarkably well and I'm very much looking forward to getting my hands on a few come January.
Stay tuned and stay safe over the Christmas period Xx
