Inglis Gold Riband

GOLD RIBAND

The inaugural Gold Riband session at the Inglis Classic Sale on Saturday night is a fantastic initiative and I can’t wait to get amongst the action.

There are 60 precocious yearlings catalogued for the session that the Inglis bloodstock team has hand-picked as being most likely to be up-and-running early 2YOs. The session is jam packed with quality right up until the last lot of the evening, lot 120 a gorgeous bay Snitzel colt of Anthony Mithen’s at Rosemont Stud. One which has also caught my eye is a lovely filly by horse of his generation the mighty Pierro out of Danehill mare O’Perfect One, to be offered as lot 71.

The Inglis Classic Sale has produced many champions over the years and I’m looking forward to attending the three days of action this weekend, starting with the Gold Riband on opening night, to find the next Golden Slipper winner and my next stars of the turf.

I encourage you all to get along and check out this new initiative as I think it will be a winner.

CHAIRMAN’S

The introduction of The Chairman’s Sale at Inglis is going to make for a festival of action over the already enormous Australian Easter Yearling Sale period. There is a lot of momentum gathering for this new sale and the entries already received have me excited for just how big this new concept will be.

Prior to Day 1 of The Championships on Thursday 30 March will see shares in horses offered, much like the fabulous sales in Europe where owners can get involved to race for huge stakes just a couple of days later. Then after the yearling sale, is a top quality Breeding stock session on Friday 7 April. Among the early entries is my former filly Harlem River, who was blessed with so much talent, in foal to my champion Golden Slipper-winning colt Vancouver. A match made in heaven if ever I’ve seen! There is also a well-bred mare in foal to Frankel, Group 1 winner Provocative and dual Group 2 winner Don’t Doubt Mamma, who was one of the stars of last year’s Melbourne Spring Carnival.

This sale is on track to be the next big thing on the world scene, given the huge initial support, and I’ll be front and centre ready to pounce on such great talent on offer.
